New Species
Considering all the ages that the earth has been through since its formation, Anatolia attracts attention as one of the most protected areas. Whether in terms of plants or animals, endemic species that have had a chance to survive in Anatolia have attracted the attention of researchers. It is very important to protect the richness of species in Anatolia which is a very strong historical background in terms of biodiversity.
The new species that have been identified by researchers at the Aegean University Aquatic Products Faculty are listed in the table below. It is certain that Turkey has many more species to be discovered in lakes, rivers and seas.
